How to perform well in GD?

The GD Round is one crucial step during the MBA Admissions. The GD analyze the overall quality of a candidate which will include his/her awareness, communication, analytical and leadership skills. It is mandatory to clear the GD round in order to qualify for the next round i.e Personal Interview (PI). Also, not every MBA college have made the GD round mandatory for candidates. During the GD process it is very important to know and follow certain tips for Group discussion to become very well versed about the entire GD process. 

In this article, we will discuss the basic points to keep in mind during your group discussion round.

1.Making eye contact

It is important to engage well during a group discussion. Making an eye contact during the GD round will make the candidate look more confident.

2. Be a good listener

Never forget that a good speaker is also a good listener. It is considered as one of the fundamental characteristic. Active listening not only makes you a good speaker but also shows respect to the other participants in the group discussion.

3. Stay on track

In the GD round there will be other participants as well. Sometimes, the discussion can deviate from the actual topic. In such cases candidate should try to bring the discussion on track, this way he/she can lead the entire discussion and perform well.

4. Communicate Politely

During the group discussion round, stay aware of what you say and how you say it. You will find different views from other participants that will vary from yours. In such cases make sure to respect their opinions and communicate your perspective assertively, not aggressively.
