The newly introduced GMAT Focus Edition is the recent update of the previous standard GMAT exam. The GMAC is responsible for conducting it across the globe. If you want to take the GMAT Focus Edition exam, you should also know its syllabus thoroughly. The candidate should know what the exam covers. The exam is divided into three sections, consisting of Quantitative Reasoning, Verbal Reasoning, and Data Insights.
Here is the detailed syllabus:
Verbal Reasoning: This section tests your ability to comprehend and analyze written arguments. It has 23 questions on Reading Comprehension and Critical Reasoning. Although, it no longer includes Sentence Correction questions. The syllabus covers topics, such as main idea, inference, assumption, conclusion, evidence, reasoning, tone, structure, and logic of passages and arguments.
Quantitative Reasoning: This tests the student’s ability to solve arithmetic and algebra problems. It has 21 questions on Problem Solving. Previously, it included Data Sufficiency or Geometry questions, too. But not in the changed syllabus. This section further covers topics such as number properties, fractions, decimals, percentages, ratios, proportions, exponents, roots, equations, inequalities, functions, graphs, and word problems.
Data Insights: This is a whole new section that tests your ability to analyze and interpret data from various sources and formats. It has 20 questions on Data Sufficiency, Graphics Interpretation, Table Analysis, Two-Part Analysis, and Multi-Source Reasoning. It covers topics such as data analysis, data representation, data manipulation, data comparison, data inference, data integration, and data evaluation.

On the Exam Day
The exam day is considered to be a crucial and sensitive day. The candidate should stay calm and eat well. The candidates have two options in the registration process: Online or Test Centre.
Online Exam: If you have opted for the online GMAT Focus Edition exam, then on the day of the exam you have to attempt it. For that, log in with your required credentials and start attempting it.
Test Centre: For the students to select the exam at the test centre, they have to visit the venue specified in the guidelines. Also, make sure to be on time and take the admit card provided with a valid photo ID card of yours.
Please note: The questions in each section are not changeable at the time of the exam by any candidate or the test taker.
How to Check Result?
The students who already attempted the exam might be wondering about the results. Don’t worry though! The GMAT – Focus Edition Exam results are released a few days after the exam. So, students don’t have to wait for longer to start the admission procedure to their desired colleges. The students will receive an email when their results are out. Also, they can check the results on the official site. According to the official reports, after the declaration of the results, the students can send their scores to a maximum of 5 programs for free within 48 hours.
