Let the free luggage allowance be x kg.

M + S = 1050... (1)
x + 2M = 2400 ... (2)

x + 2S = 900 ... (3)

from (1) , (2) and (3)
x = 600
M = 900

4! ( 4C4 + 5C4 + 6C4 +...+14C4

Sum :  4! (15C5) = 72072

Average : 72072/11 = 6552

sum of age of all employeesAvg AgeRemark
1990200(200*40)
1992(200-40) = 160(200*42)-(40*50) in 2 years avg age will increase by 2
1996(200-40+20) = 180(200*46)-(40*54)+(20*32) in next 4 years avg age will increase by 4
2000(200-40+20) = 180(200*50)-(40*58)+(20*36) = 8400(8440/180) = 46.7in next 4 years avg will increase by 4

In 1996 it will be 42.666 after 4 years ie in 2000 it will be 42.666+4 = 46.666

There are seven consecutive natural numbers such that the average of the first five is
n. Then the average of all seven numbers will be
A. n
B. n+1
C. kn+1/k, where k is a positive constant
D. n+2/7

Gaurav Jain 11/07/2019 2:18 pm

Average of natural number increases by 0.5, if next natural number is added in the list

example ( avg of 3,4,5 is 4. and Avg of 3,4,5,6 is 4.5)
hence when we add two consecutive natural numbers avg will increase by 0.5+0.5 = 1

hence new avg will be n+1

A few students decided to buy a gift for their teacher. So, each of them decided to contribute an equal amount for the gift. But when they went to buy the gift, they found that the price of it had increased by 16.66%. Now 2 more students joined to contribute and because of this the cost per head decreased by Re 1. If the contribution per head is an integer, which of the following cant be the initial number of students who had decided to contribute for the gift?

A. 5    B.6    C. 7    D.8

Gaurav Jain 23/08/2019 4:23 pm

initial contribution p , and number = n , so initial price = pn

and final price = 7/6pn

final contri = p-1 and number of students = n+2

so 7/6pn = (p-1) (n+2)

from this n = (12p-12)/(p+6)

now n=7 won't be possible

In the island of Hoola Boola Moola , inhabitants have a strang process of calculating their average incomes and expenditures. According to an old legend prevalent on that island. the average monthly income had to be calculated on the basis of 14 months in a calendar year while the average monthly expenditure was to be calculated on the basis of 9months per year. This would lead to people having an underestimation of their saving since there would be an underestimation of the income and overestimation of their expenditure per month.

Q.Mr. Boogie Woogle comes back from the USSR and convinces his community comprising 273 families to start calculating the average incomeon on the basis of 12 months per calendar year.Now if it is knon that the average estimated income in his community is(according to the old system) 87 Moolahs per month. Then what will be the change in the average estimated savings for the island of Hoola Boola Moola. (Assume that there is no other change).

 1) 251.60 Moolahs

2) 282.75 Moolahs

 3) 312.75 Moolahs

 4) Cannot Be Determined

In a hotel, the tariff for every odd dates is Rs.1000 and for even dates is Rs. 2000. If the man paid total of 30000 in all. For how many days did he stay in the hotel given that the first day is 5th date of the month?

  1. 50
  2. 20
  3. 40
  4. 60
Neraj (TG) 05/06/2024 3:18 pm

@neha-singh

Total tariff = 30000
So, for odd dates (5th , 7th , and so on) = 1000
And for even dates (6th , 8th and so on ) = 2000
So, the average amount of money for 2 days is Rs. 1500.
So, total amount paid = 30000
So , number of days he stayed in the hotel = 30000/1500 = 20.

A grocer has a sale of Rs. 6435, Rs. 6927, Rs. 6855, Rs. 7230 and Rs. 6562 for 5 consecutive months. How much sale must he have in the sixth month so that he gets an average sale of Rs. 6500?

(a) Rs. 4991

(b) Rs. 5991

(c) Rs. 6001

(d) Rs. 6991

Neraj (TG) 05/06/2024 3:18 pm

@neha-singh

Total sale for 5 months = Rs. (6435 + 6927 + 6855 + 7230 + 6562) = Rs. 34009.

 Required sale = Rs. [ (6500 x 6) - 34009 ]

   = Rs. (39000 - 34009)

   = Rs. 4991.
