For a number to be divisible by 24,

It should be divisible by 8 and 3.

For a number to be divisible by 8,

The last three digits should be divisible by 8.

For,

Y = 4, the last three digits,

i.e, 048 is divisible by 8.

For a number to be divisible by 3,

The sum of the digits should be divisible by 3.

20 + x should be divisible by 3.

For x = 1, 20+x = 21 is divisible by 3

X = 1 and y = 4

Hence, x+y = 1+4 = 5
